Bochum - DSC Arminia Bielefeld kept their hopes of Bundesliga 2 survival alive with a comfortable 4-1 victory over VfL Bochum 1848 at the Rewirpowerstadion.

Former Chelsea FC striker Ben Sahar gave the visitors the lead inside the first 15 minutes with his second goal of the season, before Bochum keeper Andreas Luthe saved Fabian Klos' spot-kick half way through the first period. Sahar doubled his tally for the evening soon after, however, while Klos made up for his penalty miss with Bielefeld's third six minutes before half-time.

Heiko Butscher pulled a goal back for Bochum after the break, but Christian Müller eventually sealed three points for Arminia four minutes from time, capitalising on a mix-up in the home defence to help Bielefeld move level on points with 15th-placed SG Dynamo Dresden ahead of Saturday's fixtures.
