Düsseldorf - Fortuna Düsseldorf eased to a comfortable 3-1 win over VfR Aalen on Sunday to move up to ninth in the table.

Despite dominating the first half, it was not until the 44th minute that Fortuna finally broke the deadlock, Australian Ben Halloran finding the net from the edge of the penalty area. Charlison Benschop then doubled the hosts' advantage from the penalty spot after Oliver Barth fouled Adam Bodzek in the area, and Benschop then teed up Timm Golley to put the result beyond Aalen. The visitors did find a consolation through Manuel Junglas, but it was too little too late for Stefan Ruthenbeck's men, who fall three points behind their mid-table hosts.
