Bochum - VfL Bochum earned three much-needed points in their battle against the drop with a 1-0 victory over fellow strugglers FC Erzgebirge Aue.

As was perhaps to be expected from two teams low on confidence at the wrong end of the table, the game took a while to get going, with both sides focused on keeping a clean sheet. As such, goalscoring opportunities - half-chances included - were almost non-existent. That was to change in the second period however, when Richard Sukuta-Pasu received the ball with his back to goal, before rolling his marker and finishing expertly ino the far corner. Aue were unable to muster a comeback as the hosts dug deep to defend their lead, protecting the scoreline safely until the final whistle.
