Bielefeld - FC Energie Cottbus gave their survival hopes a boost with a 3-1 win over ten-man DSC Arminia Bielefeld.

Bielefeld survived an early scare when Patrick Schönfeld inadvertently turned Stiven Rivic's free kick against his own post. Cottbus had created little off their own backs, but went ahead courtesy of Boubacar Sanogo's close-range header in the 33rd minute. Fabian Klos should have levelled late in the half, before the game turned resoundingly in Cottbus' favour as Jan Fießer collected his second yellow card 12 minutes after the restart. Kacper Przybylko looked to have rescued a point for the hosts, but Cottbus made their man advantage count with Stephan Salger's own goal and Sanogo's tenth goal of the season securing the points in injury time.
