Bochum - SpVgg Greuther Fürth closed the gap on Bundesliga 2 leaders 1. FC Köln to four points with a 2-0 victory over VfL Bochum at the Rewirpowerstadion.

Clear-cut chances proved hard to come by in a scrappy first half in North Rhine-Westphalia, but the visitors opened the scoring in spectacular fashion four minutes before half-time when Daniel Brosinski's 25-yard free-kick flew past goalkeeper Andreas Luthe and into the net for the defender's first goal of the campaign.

Bochum looked increasingly vulnerable to the counter-attack as they chased the game and a clinical Fürth breakaway sealed the points for Frank Kramer's team one minute into second-half stoppage time, Ilir Azemi finishing off a flowing move to strengthen the visitors' promotion push. Bochum, however, remain just two points clear of the Bundesliga 2 play-off place.
