Munich - 1860 Munich recorded their first win of the calendar year with a comfortable 3-0 victory over mid-table rivals VfR Aalen.

Yannick Stark put the Lions in front after 20 minutes, sidefooting home from ten yards after neat interplay on the edge of the area and Japanese attacker Yuya Osako made it 2-0 just a minute later following an exchange of passes with Moritz Stoppelkamp. A horrendous backpass straight to Andreas Ludwig allowed the midfielder to dink the ball in to give the hosts a deserved half-time lead.

The tempo dropped off after the break, with 1860 content to protect their advantage against their toothless visitors, although Stoppelkamp did get his name on the scoresheet late on with a close-range finish. The result means the Lions leapfrog their visitors in the standings, moving on to 34 points.
