Hamburg - Fin Bartels' late goal sealed a 2-1 victory for FC St. Pauli over 1. FC Union Berlin which boosts the Hamburg side's promotion hopes.

St. Pauli's John Verhoek had the best chance of a cagey opening 45 minutes, his goal-bound effort was cleared off the line by Fabian Schönheim after the Dutch striker had rounded Union keeper Daniel Haas. Simon Terodde gave the visitors the lead just before the hour mark when he pounced on a loose ball deep inside the penalty area after St. Pauli stopper Philipp Tschauner had parried Damir Kreilach's header.

The hosts were level almost immediately, however, when Sebastian Schachten turned and fired an unstoppable shot into the corner of the net from the edge of the area. Just as it seemed both teams were going to have to settle for a draw, Fin Bartels sidefooted Marcel Halstenberg's low cross into the far corner to lift Michael Frontzeck's team up to fourth in the table. Union Berlin, meanwhile, drop down to sixth.
