Cologne - Bundesliga 2 leaders 1. FC Köln had to settle for a point after being held to a 1-1 draw by second-placed SpVgg Greuther Fürth on Monday night.

Backed by a vociferous partisan crowd, the Billy Goats played with far greater purpose and took a deserved lead in the 36th minute when Fürth failed to clear their lines from a Patrick Helmes corner, allowing Austrian defender Kevin Wimmer to swipe home his first goal of the season from close range. Mergim Mavraj and Helmes passed up decent second-half opportunities, before Clover Leaves substitute Ilir Azemi bundled home four minutes from time to keep the gap at the top to a surmountable six points.
