Bielefeld - FC Ingolstadt 04 took a huge leap away from the bottom three thanks to a 2-0 win at DSC Arminia Bielefeld, who remain in the midst of the danger at the bottom.

It was a game of cat and mouse in the first half with few chances and an overall defensive approach taken by both sides. That soon changed in the second half, though, as Ingolstadt took the lead with Philipp Hofmann hitting in a spectacular effort off the inside of the left-hand post. Boosted by taking the lead, the Bavarians started to assert themselves on the game with Karl-Heinz Lappe putting himself about in attack.

Lappe ultimately got his reward with Ingolstadt's second goal late on, as Collin Quaner teed him up to open his account for the season with a neat lob over Patrick Platins to seal Ingolstadt's win and continue their march up the table.
