Ingolstadt - FC Ingolstadt earned three precious points to edge away from the relegation zone with a 2-0 home win against TSV 1860 Munich on Matchday 21.

The Bavarian derby success moves them up to within four points of the mid-table Lions, who are now drifting well off the pace in the battle for promotion places.

Philipp Hofmann put the hosts in front with 20 minutes on the clock, finishing a fine move he had started himself with a clinical shot past Gabor Kiraly into the corner of the net. 1860 worked to try and get themselves back in the contest, but struggled to work the home keeper and it was Ingolstadt who came closer to increasing their advantage with a controlled display of counter-attacking football. Substitute Collin Quaner then made the points safe for them shortly after coming off the bench, racing clear of the visiting defence to slot home number two.
