Cottbus - Ranisav Jovanovic piled the misery on ten-man FC Energie Cottbus with a late winner for SV Sandhausen at the Stadion der Freundschaft.

Cottbus had a spring in their step to start with, eager to lift themselves off the foot of the table without delay, although they were unable to turn their domination into goals. In fact, Danny Blum went the closest to breaking the deadlock for the visitors before he was replaced due to injury.

Julian Börner was shown a red card with over 20 minutes still to be played when he caught Nicky Adler with his elbow in an aerial duel, and Cottbus inevitable tried to salvage what they could from the game with ten men. They failed to go the distance, though, with Jovanovic heading in a late winner to leave Cottbus rooted to the foot of the table.
