Munich - FC St. Pauli moved into third on Matchday 18 thanks to a 2-0 victory away to 1860 Munich.

Boosted by a streak of four consecutive wins, 1860 started confidently, carving out numerous chances in the opening 45 minutes. Yannick Stark and Moritz Stoppelkamp both saw promising efforts denied by Pauli goalkeeper Philipp Tschauner, but the hosts were made to rue their missed opportunities shortly before the interval when Christopher Nöthe slotted the ball past Gabor Kiraly.

The visitors came close to doubling their lead shortly after the restart, Marc Rzatkowski squandering against Kiraly on a one-on-one situation. 1860, however, threw bodies forward in the final stages in search of an equaliser, Christopher Schindler missing a rare chance for the home side before Fin Bartels did better at the other end of the pitch, finishing a well-played counter-attack to seal three points for St. Pauli - and third place.
