Cologne - 1. FC Köln suffered their second consecutive Bundesliga 2 defeat as they went down 1-0 to FC Ingolstadt at the RheinEnergieStadion.

The visitors seemed intent on sitting back against their high-flying hosts in the opening stages. Caiuby did well to get in the way of Matthias Lehmann's effort from the edge of the area, before Jonas Hector's left-footed attempt drifted just wide of Ramazan Özcan's goal.

Ingolstadt never seemed lose hope however and took a surprise lead three minutes into the second half when Moritz Hartmann managed to prod the ball into the back of the net via the post for his second goal of the season. Peter Stöger's team threw bodies forward in search of a leveller after that setback, but Anthony Ujah and Patrick Helmes' long-range efforts were both blocked by the visiting defence. Then latter then missed Köln's best chance, nodding the ball against the crossbar in the dying stages, but Ingolstadt held on to climb to 14th in the table.
