Frankfurt - 1. FC Kaiserslautern moved up to third in Bundesliga 2 with a emphatic 4-0 victory at FSV Frankfurt.

In pouring rain at the Frankfurter Volksbank Stadion, the Red Devils got off to the perfect start when Karim Matmour was felled in the penalty box by home keeper Patric Klandt, allowing Mohamadou Idrissou to open the scoring from the spot. Björn Schlike failed to follow suit with a penalty of his own, as FSV were duly punished for failing to grab an equaliser. Instead Kaiserslautern pressed their advantage as Chris Löwe’s free-kick deceived substitute keeper Sören Pirson to nestle in the corner, before a second spot-kick, this time converted by Matmour, effectively settled the tie ahead of the half-time whistle. With the result seemingly a foregone conclusion, Simon Zoller made it four with a strike on the hour-mark, after which Lautern saw out their highest win of the season far.
