Düsseldorf - Two quickfire second-half strikes handed Fortuna Düsseldorf only their third victory of the season at home to high-flying Greuther Fürth.

The visitors took the lead in spectacular fashion after just 15 minutes when midfielder Florian Trinks scored from a direct free-kick, with the Clover Leaves clearly the stronger side. However, Düsseldorf re-emerged fired up after the interval and were rewarded with a brace from Dutch striker , who took his goal tally for the season to four.

The result means Fürth missed the opportunity to stay top of the standings for a third consecutive week, and now trail leaders 1. FC Köln on goal difference alone. The three points lifted Düsseldorf from 15th up to ninth.
