Kaiserslautern - A tumultuous first half saw FC Energie Cottbus take the lead only to be pegged back in the second and draw 2-2 against 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

The action began in the eighth minute, when Kaiserslautern captain Florian Dick was shown a straight red card and a penalty given - duly converted by Cottbus’ Ivica Banovic. The home side equalised after 23 minutes with a header from Markus Karl but couldn’t make their subsequent pressure pay, as Marco Stiepermann made it 2-1 to the visitors on the stroke of half-time.

Ten-man Lautern equalised again in the 57th minute through a lovely goal from , but neither side could find a winner, leaving them both equally frustrated with a draw. The result pushes Cottbus up to eighth position thanks to their good goal difference, while Kaiserslautern also rise to 4th.
