Paderborn - SC Paderborn sealed their first win of the season as ’s second-half header gave them a 1-0 victory over TSV 1860 Munich.

Paderborn had claimed just two points and conceded nine goals in their four preceding league games, but their back-line looked solid against 1860’s front two of USA international Bobby Wood and Stephan Hain. Chances were indeed at a premium for both teams in the opening half, but after the break, the game opened up.

After Wemmer nodded in from a precise left-wing cross, 1860 began to chase the game and commit men forward. Wood went close on two occasions and Benjamin Lauth shot wide, before Elias Kachunga wasted a great chance to wrap it up for the hosts when he dragged a shot off target. It mattered little, however, as a toothless Lions outfit could make no inroads into the home defence and were left to nurse their second defeat of the campaign.
