Dresden - Dynamo Dresden successfully overturned a one-goal first-leg deficit in the relegation play-off against VfL Osnabrück as they preserved their status as a Bundesliga 2 side courtesy of a 2-0 win at the Glücksgas Stadion on Tuesday evening.

With the home crowd in full voice, the hosts were out of the blocks quickly in an attempt to restore parity as soon as possible following a 1-0 loss in the first-leg and immediately began carving out chances. Christian Fiel opened the scoring on the half-hour mark with a sensational effort from distance, yet Dynamo’s profligacy led to some tense moments at the back. However, Idir Ouali was on hand to calm the nerves, slotting home in the 71st minute to dismiss Osnabrück, who failed to carve out a clear-cut chance for themselves. The encounter with the third-tier side brought an end to a tumultuous season for head coach Peter Pacult and his charges, who can now begin preparations ahead of the upcoming Bundesliga 2 campaign.
