Braunschweig - Eintracht Braunschweig showed signs of a hangover after clinching promotion to the Bundesliga last weekend as they were held at home to a 0-0 draw by Energie Cottbus.

There were scenes of celebration in the stands of the Eintracht-Stadion as the Braunschweig followers hailed their promotion heroes, but the action on the field of play left a lot to be desired. Apart from Dennis Kruppke’s header onto the crossbar for the hosts and Michael Schulze’s shot against the post at the other end, there was a distinct lack of opportunities, not that the home fans cared too much. They were enjoying the occasion all the same, and Cottbus appeared to have no intention of ruining the party.
