Sandhausen - Three games, three wins, and Peter Neururer's second stint at VfL Bochum 1848 could hardly have begun any better. The latest to fall victim were SV Sandhausen, who went down 1-0 at home to the rejuvenated club on Friday evening.

The triumph moved Bochum up to 14th place and extended the gap between themselves and the relegation places to four points, for the time being at least. The guests dominated the encounter, firing off almost three times as many shots as Sandhausen, although only one - from Marcel Maltritz - found the net. Defeat for the hosts means the best they can hope for is the relegation play-off place. 15th-placed Aue are ten points ahead, but only Sandhausen have three games remaining.
