Braunschweig - Eintracht Braunschweig missed the chance to keep up the pressure on newly-promoted Hertha BSC Berlin at the league summit after being held to a 1-1 draw by FC Erzgebirge Aue.

The Lions started brightly and once Mirko Boland broke the deadlock, there only appeared to be only possible outcome, yet the midfielder' sending off in the second half handed the visitors a lifeline. Aue subsequently grew more adventurous and were rewarded through Oliver Schröder's equaliser, before Tobias Nickenig was expelled late on to restore numerical parity. Despite the draw, the hosts can secure promotion to the top-flight with a victory next week.
