Hamburg - FC St. Pauli head coach Michael Frontzeck underwent a short operation on Wednesday morning following his triple rib fracture.

The surgery lasted just six minutes but was necessary because a small tear of the lung was discovered during an examination on Tuesday afternoon.

"The operation went well," said Frontzeck afterwards. "They put a tube in there. I feel pretty good, considering, and I'm being well looked after here at the hospital."

All going well, the 48-year-old should be able to leave hospital at the beginning of next week.
