Berlin - 1. FC Union Berlin rekindled their promotion hopes as they moved within three points of third place in the Bundesliga 2 courtesy of a thrilling 4-2 win over FC St. Pauli in Germany's capital.

Berlin's top goalscorer Simon Terodde put the hosts in front with a neatly chipped finish (20') before Marius Ebbers' 100th goal in Germany's second tier brought Pauli level (37'). Torsten Mattuschka restored Union's lead before the break (42') and, though Sebastian Schachten's fine volley restored parity (76'), a late quickfire double from Adam Nemec (81') and Terodde (83') was enough to bring Pauli's three-game winning streak to an end.
