Duisburg - MSV Duisburg collected a second consecutive victory on home soil as they took a big step to ensuring their survival, clinching a 2-1 win against FC Energie Cottbus, who squandered a chance to leapfrog 1. FC Kaiserslautern in third place.

Ranislav Jovanovic (37') and a Branimir Bajic spot kick (81') had put the Zebras comfortably in front, and though second-half substitute Stiven Rivic (87') reduced the arrears to create a tense finish, Duisburg did enough to claim a deserved victory. The result provides the hosts with some breathing room above the drop zone, while Cottbus will have to go back to the drawing board in their bid to secure promotion.
