Dortmund - Football fans the world over will be delighted to learn that Borussia Dortmund megastar Marco Reus has returned to light training following an ankle injury.

The 25-year-old suffered a ligament tear in Germany's friendly win over Armenia in June, simultaneously depriving global audiences a glimpse of one of the most talked-about forwards of his generation at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

"It's always a good feeling to see the guys running again," BVB head coach Jürgen Klopp told Germany’s largest specialist football magazine, Kicker. "The healing process has been going really well. Maybe Marco will be able to take part in team training again in two or three weeks."

Reus, who is unlikely to return to first-team action until September, underlined his road-to-stardom credentials with 23 goals in all competitions last season as Dortmund finished runners-up behind arch rivals FC Bayern München in the Bundesliga and DFB Cup as well as reaching the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
