New setback for Reus

Marco Reus is now expected to be sidelined for three months after suffering injury in a friendly match last week

Dortmund - Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus will be out of action for longer than expected after further tests revealed he will need three months to recover.

The 25-year-old injured his left ankle during Germany's final World Cup warm-up match against Armenia last week and was subsequently forced to withdraw from the tournament.

Additional damage

Over the last few days Reus has undergone further examination at Dortmund's Knappschafts hospital under the guidance of club doctor Dr. Markus Braun. It was during these tests that damage to heel ligaments was discovered, leading Braun to calculate a maximum recovery period of three months.
