Wolfsburg - Kevin De Bruyne scored his first goal in a VfL Wolfsburg shirt in Saturday's 3-1 win at Hamburger SV, a result which secured the Wolves a place in the UEFA Europa League next season while leaving them firmly in contention for a shot at fourth place.

The Belgian has added an extra dimension to the Wolves' attack since arriving from Chelsea FC in the winter, but he does not want to take all of the credit for a run of form which could even lead Wolfsburg into the UEFA Champions League.

Question: Kevin De Bruyne, were you happy with the performance in Hamburg?

De Bruyne: We didn't play badly at all, but you could tell that we'd been playing in the cup in midweek. We definitely had heavy legs, but these are the games you've got to be winning.

Question: You finally opened your account for the Wolves. Is that something of a relief?

De Bruyne: Scoring wasn't so important for me - the three points are more important. Of course it's nice to have finally scored for Wolfsburg, but I've not been thinking about that as much as other people have. I just want to put in a good performance each time I play and help the team get three points.

Question: You're in excellent form, helping Wolfsburg play great attacking football. Isn't that just the way you like it?

De Bruyne: Yes, but it's only working so well because the whole team are in very good form right now. When we're all playing well, then I play well, and make my contribution. We can only succeed together.

Question: Wolfsburg have now clinched a place in the Europa League. Is that reassuring as you prepare to fight for fourth place?

De Bruyne: It's good that all of the pressure has gone, and we can now be more relaxed. Maybe we will still manage to realise our dream of playing in the Champions League. One thing's for sure, we'll give it our best shot and try to get all nine points [from our remaining three games].

Question: You'll be without both the injured Junior Malanda and the suspended Luiz Gustavo in your next game. Is that a worry for your defensive midfield?

De Bruyne: No, why should it be? Everybody's done a good job, whether it be Jan [Polak] or Medo [Slobodan Medojevic]. They've all slotted in well. Of course it's not great to have to do without certain players, but if you want to play in Europe, then you've got to have a big squad and not just 11 good players.
