Leverkusen - Bayer 04 Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender has extended his contract with the club until 2019.
The 24-year-old's current deal was only due to expire in 2017, but die Werkself will be delighted that Bender has decided to commit his future to the club for a further two years.
“Something very special has evolved here at Leverkusen in recent years,” said Bender. “Our team is strong and has the potential to become even better. I want to be part of the team's history and play my part in establishing the club as one of the best in the Bundesliga. I‘m very happy at the club and I'm delighted to be playing here.”
Bender has made 115 Bundesliga appearances for Leverkusen, scoring 12 goals. His only strike of the current campaign came in a 4-1 victory over FSV Mainz 05 on Matchday 6.
