Dante back in training

Bayern defender Dante (r, with Shawn Parker) injured his ankle against Mainz recently

Munich - FC Bayern München have received a boost on the injury front with the news that central defender Dante has returned to team training following two games out with an ankle problem.

The 30-year-old Brazil international tore muscle tissue in his right ankle in the 4-1 win over 1. FSV Mainz 05 on Matchday 9, an injury which forced him to miss the victories over FC Viktoria Plzen in the UEFA Champions League and Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga.

However, head coach Pep Guardiola can now begin planning for the weekend's trip to 1899 Hoffenheim with his defensive stalwart in tow.

Kroos and Robben on the mend

There was also good news regarding Arjen Robben and Toni Kroos, who were withdrawn early on against Hertha on Matchday 10. "It's getting better each day, but we won't take any unnecessary risks ahead of the Hoffenheim game," said Robben, who, along with Kroos, is recovering from an adductor complaint.

Table-toppers Bayern travel to the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena needing to avoid defeat in order to equal the Bundesliga's longest unbeaten run of games, a 36-match stretch set by Hamburger SV between 1982 and 1983.
