Schweinsteiger suffered the injury in Bayern's 1-1 draw against SC Freiburg on Matchday 4, and was forced to miss the UEFA Super Cup triumph against Chelsea FC, as well as Germany's fixtures against Austria and the Faroe Islands.

His Bayern team-mate Arjen Robben has also overcome a slight knock on his right knee and should be ready to play this weekend. The Dutch international told fcb.tv that the Hannover tie would be an "important and difficult game", adding that the Bavarians needed to "go back to basics and work through things again" following the international break.
