Manuel Neuer

Age: 30

Club: FC Bayern München

The Germany No1 was once again imperious between the posts for the Bundesliga champions this season - and was rewarded for his displays with a new contract valid until 2021. Not only do his stature, reputation and reflexes make him an intimidating last line of defence, he often launches attacks with quick throw-outs and his willingness to act as a 'sweeper-keeper' allows Bayern to play higher up the pitch.

  • Kept 21 clean sheets in 34 Bundesliga appearances.
  • Has only conceded 16 goals.
  • Has won a fourth successive Bundesliga title.

Timo Horn

Age: 22

Club: 1. FC Köln

Despite his young age, Horn is widely regarded as one of Germany's finest goalkeepers and he has had another excellent campaign for the Billy Goats. Indeed, such is his importance to the side that he did not miss a single minute of Bundesliga action throughout the season and played a huge role in ensuring Köln retained their top-flight status for another year.

  • Has saved a whopping 74.84 per cent of the shots he has faced.
  • Has kept eight clean sheets and saved one penalty.

Loris Karius

Age: 22

Club: 1. FSV Mainz 05

Mainz were one of the season's surprise packages, with their team spirit and focus on the collective helping them to end the campaign in contention for a spot in next term's UEFA Europa League. That achievement was also in no small part thanks to Karius, a superb shot-stopper with an excellent command of his penalty area.

  • Is yet to miss a minute of action.
  • Has saved two penalties and kept nine clean sheets.
  • Has kept out 74.23 per cent of all shots taken at Mainz's goal.

Bernd Leno

Age: 24

Club: Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Die Werkself's undisputed No1 for a fifth successive season, Leno's consistency makes him one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the league. At one stage in the season he went 496 minutes without conceding, earning him the nickname 'Lenomenal' and sparking a wave of memes and gifs on social media.

  • Now a part of the senior Germany squad.
  • Is yet to miss a minute of action for Leverkusen this season.
  • Enhanced his reputation as a penalty-saving specialist by keeping out a Klaas-Jan Huntelaar spot-kick on Matchday 31, his ninth Bundesliga penalty save overall.
  • Has kept 13 clean sheets.
