Introduction

"Hello people!!

And welcome to my blog!! First of all I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. It is a great honor for me to be helping the Bundesliga covering a little piece of what the Copa America has to offer. It is such a huge event here in America, so it's pretty hard to cover all the information around it (mainly because every game is in a different location around the country... and I cannot manage to be everywhere... Yet!! Lol!).

But still... Being here and being able to stay close to Mexico's national team lets me live an incredible experience. And it is incredible not just because of the games or because of football (which I absolutely adore and it's one of my biggest passions!!) but because I get to feel an amazing atmosphere. I meet great, patriotic and passionate people, I see nervous kids smiling everywhere, so excited about watching their idols play. People from the US that love football and people from South America that travel all the way to the United States to support their flag and their colours! Yes, I know!! I am so lucky!!!

Well, sticking to the point... With this blog I am going to try to show you a little piece of Copa America. The little piece that I can live every day here. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! So follow us and I will definitely try my best to make you feel and live this incredible experiences as if you were here. We just arrived in LA, so pretty cool stuff coming soon!! See you around!

Love,

Lucía"

Wednesday 15 June – If you’re going to San Francisco…

After their nearly-four-hour flight from Houston to San Francisco, Lucia Villalon, Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez and Co. shook off the cobwebs to explore the Golden Gate City before Mexico’s Copa America quarter-final clash with defending champions Chile on Saturday.

Lucia was delighted to have a free day with Chicharito and his best friend and teammate, Miguel Layun…

"Hello everyone," said Lucia on arrival to San Francsico. "We arrived in California yesterday, and after training today, the players have a free day, so we came to San Francisco and I’m with two of the guys."
"We’re going on a boat trip…They’re taking me on this boat trip just so that I shut up, because I want to see the city and we don’t have much time."
Chicharito and Co. were not the only ones making the most of the weather in San Francisco Bay.
"Lombard Street, a very typical street here in San Francisco…"
Chicharito still found time to take pictures with his fans.
"So that was our visit to San Franciso, pretty short…I would have loved to have spent more time here, but it’s time to go. Bye!!"

The secret of Mexico's goal celebration....

Formula One star Sergio Perez may be a friend of 'Chicharito', but El Tri's unique goal celebration at the Copa America Centenario is not in honour of the Mexican speedster, but rather another famous driver...
