Introduction

"Hello people!!

And welcome to my blog!! First of all I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. It is a great honor for me to be helping the Bundesliga covering a little piece of what the Copa America has to offer. It is such a huge event here in America, so it's pretty hard to cover all the information around it (mainly because every game is in a different location around the country... and I cannot manage to be everywhere... Yet!! Lol!).

But still... Being here and being able to stay close to Mexico's national team lets me live an incredible experience. And it is incredible not just because of the games or because of football (which I absolutely adore and it's one of my biggest passions!!) but because I get to feel an amazing atmosphere. I meet great, patriotic and passionate people, I see nervous kids smiling everywhere, so excited about watching their idols play. People from the US that love football and people from South America that travel all the way to the United States to support their flag and their colours! Yes, I know!! I am so lucky!!!

Well, sticking to the point... With this blog I am going to try to show you a little piece of Copa America. The little piece that I can live every day here. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! So follow us and I will definitely try my best to make you feel and live this incredible experiences as if you were here. We just arrived in LA, so pretty cool stuff coming soon!! See you around!

Love,

Lucía"

Tuesday 14 June - A Chicharito secret revealed as Mexico leave Houston

After El Tri's 1-1 draw with Venezuela in Houston on Monday guaranteed them top spot in Group C, Chicharito and Co packed their suitcases once again to return to California, where they will play their quarter-final in Santa Clara on Saturday.

Lucia was in the thick of the action as the players took their leave of an army of fans waiting outside the team hotel - and discovered an interesting fact about her other half.

"Hello everyone," says Lucia. "After yesterday's match it's time to change location for the quarter-finals – so a little packing going on here!"
Chicharito was much in-demand as fans sought an autograph or the chance to take a selfie with the Leverkusen star.
Hundreds of supporters waited patiently outside the team hotel for a glimpse of El Tri's stars before they returned to the west coast.
And Chicharito was happy to fulfill every request. He will now face Leverkusen team-mate Charles Aranguiz and Chile in the quarter-finals.

Coming soon...

Before the squad departed, Mexico defender Yasser Corona approached Lucia with a pad of paper in hand. On it were three groups of players, with Chicharito listed as captain of Team 2 alongside Diego Reyes, Javier Aquino and Jorge Torres Nilo. The reason? Stay tuned to find out shortly!

What could this mean? All will be revealed soon...
