UP AGAINST IT NOW

Gladbach are looking to get an equaliser now but must stay wary of Leverkusen's counter-attack in doing so.

SCHICK WITH THE OPENER!

We do have a goal with 13 minutes to play and it's Schick who does the job. It's another fantastic counter from Leverkusen, and once again it's down the right. Tah wins the ball and Amiri sends the Frenchman away. His shot from eight yards out is saved by Sommer but Schick is onto the rebound first and slides it home across goal.

INTO THE FINAL 15...

We haven't had a goalless draw in this fixture, regardless of competition, since April 2004. Today might be the day...
70'

FIRST CHANGE

Plea has run his race and Embolo is on for him.
68'

HUGE CHANCE FOR AMIRI!

Leverkusen finally get in behind the Gladbach defence and once again it's Diaby down the right. He races onto a long ball and beats Elvedi down the byline before cutting the ball back to Amiri. He curls a shot for the far corner but it loops inches over the crossbar.
66'

SLACKING SO FAR

Leverkusen haven't found their rhythm at all in this second half so far. Diaby, Schick and Gray have hardly had a touch of the ball - a stark contrast to the first half.
62'

WOLF HAVING A GOOD DAY!

The attacking midfielder on loan from Leipzig has won the most duels of any player so far, and also covered the most distance and had the most shots of any Gladbach player.

WOLF SHOT BLOCKED

Another break for Gladbach with Wolf racing past Tapsoba through the middle after winning the ball back. Tah gets back in front of him as he reaches the six-yard box and blocks his shot behind for a corner.
53'

BIG CHANCE FOR PLEA!

Offside is against the Frenchman here, but it's a big chance nonetheless. Bensebaini does well to slide in at the byline and win the ball from Aranguiz before finding Plea in front of goal. He looks for the far bottom corner but just can't curl the ball back far enough.

SLOWER START

Neither side able to put their stamp on the second half in the opening five minutes. A bit of time to warm into the game is required.

AMIRI BOOKED

Leverkusen's midfielder is shown a yellow card for kicking the ball out of play after a free-kick had been given against him.

CLEVER DEFENDING

Gladbach are caught out in possession once again as Aranguiz intercepts Bensebaini's pass and a ball is played forward for Amiri to chase. Ginter comes across and clears it out before going down under Amiri's challenge to earn a free-kick. The Foals not hitting their stride in this first half.
33'

HUGE CHANCE!

Leverkusen break once again after a Gladbach free-kick and Gray finds Schick racing forward through the middle. He then finds Diaby in space to his right running into the area but his shot is saved by Sommer. It falls back to Schick, but he can't control it with his first touch and it drops back into the grateful hands of Sommer.

GAME OPENING UP

With Gladbach pushing on this game is opening up now, with Leverkusen winning a corner after clearing a Gladbach corner themselves before going on a swift counter-attack.
24'

WOLF SHOT BLOCKED!

Best chance of the game so far as Gladbach work well down the right again. Lazaro's cross is knocked down by Thuram for Wolf in front of goal, but his shot is deflected behind off Frimpong with a crucial block right in front of his own goal.
21'

PLEA IN THE RIGHT PLACE!

Gladbach get the ball forward quickly with the Leverkusen midfield outnumbered. It's Lazaro found on the right, and he plays the ball back to Lainer 25 yards from goal who spots Plea in space in the middle. The Frenchman hits his pass at goal with a first-time shot, but Grill makes a solid save.

GRAY IN ACTION!

The Englishman is making his second Bundesliga start today and has already provided a goal and two assists for Leverkusen.
17'

DIABY ON TARGET!

The first piece of work for either goalkeeper as Leverkusen switch the play to Diaby on the right. He's dribbling into the Gladbach area and works the ball onto his right to fire at the near post, but Sommer is in the right place to beat that one away.
13'

FINDING THEIR FEET

For the first time in this game so far, Gladbach have had a lengthy phase of possession. Mainly in defence, but it's providing some foundation for attacks to build from for the first time. Neuhaus curls a shot wide across goal in the meantime.

TALE OF THE TAPE

Gladbach's season has been a struggle so far and now, after a DFB Cup exit in midweek and a 2-0 deficit in the Champions League last 16 against Man City, the Foals are looking to end the league campaign on a high. At the moment they sit 9th, nine points of the top four and four points behind today's opponents Leverkusen in sixth. The away side could go ahead of Dortmund into fifth with a win this afternoon before BVB are in action this evening in Der Klassiker.

THURAM ONE TO WATCH

Thuram netted his fourth goal of the season and second in five league matches last time out. The Frenchman scored home and away to Leverkusen last term.

GRAY EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW!

This week bundesliga.com sat down with Leverkusen's loan signing from Leicester City, Demarai Gray. The Englishman explained his decision to move to the Bundesliga and the research he did to help decide on Leverkusen specifically as well as much more. You can find the full interview on the website and in the app.

NO BAILEY, NO PROBLEM?

Leverkusen may be without Bailey - who has contributed a team-leading 12 Bundesliga goals this season (six goals, six assists) - but in January loan signing Demarai Gray, Bayer fans can have hope that the Jamaican won't be too big a miss. Gray is averaging a goal or assist every 39 minutes in the Bundesliga (one goal and two assists over a total 117 minutes).

NO PLACE LIKE HOME?

Gladbach have lost their last two home league matches in a row. They haven’t lost three on the spin at Borussia-Park since September 2015.

GLADBACH TEAM NEWS

Right-back Lainer missed the Leipzig game last weekend with a hamstring problem, but returned to face BVB in the DFB Cup in midweek and starts once more. Midfielder Neuhaus was also reinstated after beginning the Leipzig collapse on the bench and is so again here. Goalkeeper Sommer has the additional benefit of a full week's preparation, having been rested in the cup.

LEVERKUSEN TEAM NEWS

As well as being without creator-in-chief Bailey, head coach Bosz's plans have been rocked by news that January signing Fosu-Mensah may not play against this season after suffering a cruciate ligament tear in the 2-1 loss to Freiburg. Fellow newcomer Frimpong also picked up knock in that game but is fit to start here, while teenaged midfielder Wirtz is unavailable. Demirbay comes in to start; Diaby returns in attack in place of Bailey.
